Junior High
Overview
Our junior high program serves about 85 students in the 7th and 8th grades. Academics center around a North American curriculum, including English, Social Studies, Math, Science, Communication and Information Technology, Bible, Physical Education, Fine Arts, Music, and Life Skills courses.
RVA operates on a trimester schedule, beginning in August and ending in July. Each term is about twelve weeks in length, followed by a one month break.
Extra Curricular
RVA has an established junior high drama program, an outstanding concert band, and an athletic program offering football (soccer), rugby, volleyball, and basketball. Seventh and eighth grade students regularly attend chapel, and on Sunday nights they participate in a worship and small group experience called Junior High Rock.
Service & Leadership
Junior high students have many opportunities for service and leadership at RVA, ranging from practical service to the community of Kijabe and beyond, student council responsibilities, leading worship in chapel, and ministering in community church services.
